On February 29th, 2008 from 11am till 7pm, there will be an informal meeting at the Department of Mathematics, University of Pisa, in memory of Gene Golub. This date would have been the 19th birthday of Gene.
The event is part of a series of similar events replicated around the world on the same day. The full list of events is being maintained by Michael Overton of NYU.
The meeting consists of
informal talks about themes of general
interest in matrix computations and about the joint collaborations
with Gene. It will be followed by a dinner.
Further details will be announced.
Who wishes to attend or ideally joining this celebration should send a message to Dario bini[at]dm[dot]unipi[dot]it with subject Gene
