2002 Day trip to Lucca (minimum 50
people)
Day trip to Lucca.
The ancient medieval town is enclosed by about 4 Km of walls, where
you can
walk along a charming wooded avenue. It was an independent Commune in the
12th and 13th centuries, when its silk and wool industry made Lucca known
all over Europe. Secular enemy of Pisa, Lucca was defeated and
conquered by
the Pisan army in 1314. If you visit Lucca, include in your tour
the Cathedral,
the churches of S. Michele and S. Frediano, the Guinigi Palaces,
Piazza dell'Anfiteatro,
although the whole historic centre is extremely charming. And, least but
not last, shopping in Lucca is a unique experience!
COST: 23 euro per person
(the price includes bus transportation and tourist guides; it
does not include
lunch and tickets for the museums. A light lunch in a typical
restaurant may
be organized at the participants' request, minimum 30 people.
Cost for lunch:
25 euro per person).
